Louis has been practicing meditation for over thirty five years and more specifically, mindfulness meditation, for twenty years. Mindfulness and Mindful Self-Compassion has provided Louis with so much in his family life, work life, sports life and every part of his life, he considers it an honor to be able to pass it on to others. Louis is passionate about this work and is always working to improve and upgrade his skills, hence the comprehensive training profile below.
Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Qualifications
Louis has an MSc in mindfulness and the advanced "Certificate of Competence in Teaching Mindfulness" (MBI-TAC) from Bangor University. This is a four year extensive training and assessment for teaching mindfulness-based interventions. s.
Louis is also a graduate of the Institute of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (IMA).
He is a Trained Teacher in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) having completed his training with Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer (founders of MSC)
He also has a background in the healing arts and in martial arts, such as, Aikido and Tai Chi and has training in counselling and psychotherapy.
He has diplomas in Counselling, Healing Massage Therapy and P.I.R.T.(Regression Therapy).
Supervision & Mentoring
Louis trained with Bangor University as a supervisor and offers supervision to mindfulness teachers.
Louis also offers one to one mentoring in mindfulness meditation.
Louis receives supervision with his courses as the norm for maintaining a high standard of teaching and ongoing learning. He adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines set out by the Irish Network of Mindfulness Teachers, the UK Network of Mindfulness Teachers and the CFM in the US.
